On October 12, our household welcomed a smiling baby boy named Nathaniel, and this week’s Stormy Mondays is here to herald him in.
The mix kicks off with Jimi’s Belly Button Window from his posthumous Voodoo Soup, followed by Assembly of Dust’s Arc of the Sun off their latest guest laden effort (Mike Gordon is laying the low end on this one, and some backing vocals).
An old school version of WSP’s Space Wrangler from 1992 makes up the center of the celebration, followed by Bobby Weir and Ratdog with the rarely performed Welcome to the World, a tune he penned at the birth of his first daughter. An acoustic Before You Were Born by The Slip gives a warm glow before the mix closes out with Phish’s first performance of Joy from June in Camden. The music says it all this week: Welcome to the world, we want you to be happy. And as always, enjoy!
