  1. Favorite song? “Open Letter (To A Landlord)”, one performance in particular. When I saw Living Colour in 2001 – their first NYC show since 9/11 – this is what they opened with. Corey held it together during the intro, even though it understandably took him a few seconds after singing “Now you can tear a building down…” The band then proceeded to tear it up for two straight nights. It was an important cathartic moment for all of us.

  2. I’m one for the big songs… Cult of personality! I saw them at Avalon in Boston back in ’94 and they just tore it apart. Glover dove off the stage and the band just played the song inside out! It was the coolest thing ever!

  3. My favorite song is Cult of Personality, because it was the first Living Colour song I heard when I was a kid in Europe. I have been a fan ever since. Rock on!!!

  4. This Is The Life – Helped me through a strange time in my life. Made me think about my life differently. Helped me live my life differently. Time’s up turned me on to new genres of music. Genres I may have never otherwise explored. Strange as it sounds to me, their music has a profound impact on who I am today. Seeing them live- Roseland in 94 (Stain Tour) was the best live show I have EVER been to (holds true to this day).

  5. My favorite Living Colour song is actually a cover. Their version of Tracy Chapman’s Talkin’ ‘Bout a Revolution is more powerful than the original.

  6. all my songs are fav from living colour but what i need to say is that this inspired me a s a young still young black girl musician growing up in huntington beach california surrounded by why arent you making soul or r and b??? which is silly because we are the true rockers!! this for me is something that breaks all barriers and taught me to break all barriers!! thank you living colour!!! thanks to you i am touring musician artist filmmaker etc.. and making what i want to create say what i want to say,no false barriers!!!!

  7. As weird as it sounds, my favorite Living Colour song is “Bless Those (Little Annie’s Prayer)”. I’ve had other favorites through the years, but I love the new album. Bless Those is a great song, starting with a cool Wimbish lick and rocking some great lyrics. Reid’s solo is fantastic, and the song just rocks. I also love the slide guitar in the song.

  8. My favorite Living Colour tune is NOTHINGNESS — because it absolutely fucking blew my mind. It’s beautiful and angry and really spoke to my 20-something self when I slid the red cassette out of the red holder…into my Walkman and pressed play. It’s a perfect tune.

  9. Would it be cliche of me to say that my favorite track is Cult of Personality? This song is timeless and to me is a reaction to the media’s ever present impact on the way we view leaders of this world. It also speaks to the fact that we are all candidates as well as participants in the phenomenon.
I love them and believe it or not they came right after Queen as my introduction to rock. A Black girl from the projects doesn’t win any popularity contests listening to this stuff ya know!

  10. My favorite Living Colour song is an impossible choice. It used to be a tossup between “Desperate People” and “Nothingness”. I love the story of the way the latter was recorded. Several of the new songs are moving up the list especially “Burned Bridges”, but the bottom line is the song that moves me most every time I hear it. “Flying” causes chills and sometimes tears. I sometimes skip the song even though I love it.

  11. My fave is Money Talks. I can listen to Vernon’s solo on that a zillion times, and still never understand how he doesn’t lose sight of the original song, or how Muzz knew when to come back in. The song kills kills kills, just like the band. Do not miss them live.

  12. “Time’s Up!” The title track to the second album. I remember seeing this tour in Providence and when the sound effects that start the album started and they took the stage, the hair on my neck stood up! That show, and every one since, has been ridiculous!!!!! I’m so glad they are touring again!!

  13. I have been into these guy from the start. Time’s up and Stain save my life. No shit. To listen to the music, hear the message in the song help me fight my demons. It gave me so much hope to live one more day. My boys from the hood doing it. So I would love to see them. Peace and Love Jesse

  14. I love ” Behind the Sun”, the guitar work is so trippy and psychedelic. I got into Living Colour recently, after seeing Doug Wimbish playing with Tarja in NYC. I look forward to my first Living Colour show 🙂

  15. my favorite living colour track is Open Letter to a Landlord, especially live with that great vocal intro by glover. i feel it has the total package of what the living colour sound is.

  16. My favorite Living Colour song is Go Away, because it highlights the combination of their funk, soul, and heavy metal all in one number. To me, that has been their consistent and unique sound since the very beginning.

  17. I feel guilty saying that my favourite Living Colour song is “Cult of personality” , but It blows me away everytime they play it. Aside from the first time I heard it on the radio, I was lucky enough to hear them play it at their last show at CBGB’s. As we were a slightly older crowd than when we saw them in the 80’s, our physical response was a bit more subdued. Instead of breaking into a frenzied mosh pit, we all leaned into the beat and bobbed our heads. I could feel the floor of the club breathing it’s last few breaths in time with the beat. I felt like that floor could give way any moment. I felt the same fear for my life and thrill of survival that I did in those slam dance pits in my teens. What a rush.

  18. my favorite living colour song is postman. i love the weight of the lyrics and the deep vibe.

Day in, day out, day in, day out, day in
Nobody knows the trouble I’ve seen
    Nobody knows what I’ve lost

so excited about the new album…good luck guys!!!

  19. My favorite song is by Living Colour is “Pride”. The reason is because it was live at the Apollo theater and I am a huge fan of that theater.
