Pullin’ ‘Tubes: Hall & Chrome-oates

While the Bonnaroo all-day lineup reveal didn’t quite have the same feel as say, Selection Sunday, among the scores of HT faves and fantastic big name acts was the curious pairing of Daryl Hall (half of the blue-eyed soul act Hall & Oates) and electro-funk outfit Chromeo. While fest organizers have thrown a few curve balls in the past this one was seemed to take the cake and had us wondering just how this seemingly out of left field combo came to be.

Well, a quick glance over at Daryl Hall’s website helps to somewhat cleared up the confusion, as Hall has been hosting jam sessions at his house for a monthly web series appropriately dubbed Live From Daryl’s House. Hall, who restores and preserves historic homes in his spare time, has invited the likes of Smokey Robinson, Todd Rundgren, Matt Nathenson and the aforementioned Chromeo to hang out and perform at his over 200 year-old-plus house in Dutchess County, NY – tackling a mix of material from the guests’ originals to covers to Hall & Oates tunes.

Let’s check out the pair’s performance of Chromeo’s Tenderoni…

Here’s hoping for an epic Maneater -> Fancy Footwork -> Private Eyes at the ‘Roo. Thanks to our good friends over Coventry for pointing this one out!

  1. This is probably my favorite find so far on the lineup. Can’t wait for the show probably a late night set, which of course means conflicts..
