Super Group Time: The Contribution

We’re always a little wary when we see a super group announcement, but we can’t help hide our excitement about the formation of The Contribution. This new project brings together Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth (violin, vocals) with New Monsoon’s Jeff Miller (guitar, mandolin, vocals) and Phil Ferlino (keyboards) as well as Keith Moseley (bass) and Jason Hann (percussion) of String Cheese Incident. So far, the group has recorded an album and announced two shows in support of the LP’s release.

The Contribution’s first album, Which Way World, comes out on March 30 via SCI Fidelity Records and is currently available for pre-order through LiveDownloads.com. You can sample a few of the tracks on this Americana-tinged album through the media player on the band’s website.

To promote the album, The Contribution will play two shows out West. On April 1st, the quintet will perform at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver, CO supported by White Water Ramble. Then, The Contribution heads out to San Francisco for a show at the Great American Music Hall on April 3rd. Let’s hope these shows go well so we can get some Contribution action out East.
