Pullin’ ‘Tubes: Neil Young Trunk Show

Back in 2007, when Neil Young pulled into Philadelphia for a two-night run at the historic Tower Theater during the tour for Chrome Dreams II, the legendary singer-songwriter had some company in town courtesy of filmmaker Jonathan Demme. The Academy award winning director, who had previously teamed up with Young for the 2006 documentary-concert film Heart of Gold, was on hand with a film crew once again to capture Young doing what he does best – performing live in front of an adoring crowd.

Over the course of the two nights, Young played a mix of familiar fan favorites (Cinnamon Girl, Cowgirl In The Sand, Like A Hurricane) and deep cuts (Ambulance Blues, Mexico, The Sultan, Mellow) with the results turned in the new performance heavy concert movie Neil Young Trunk Show. The film, which premiered at SXSW last year, will finally get its theatrical release this week when it hits select cities. Let’s check out the trailer…

Neil Young Trunk Show Setlist:

Sad Movies, Harvest, Cinnamon Girl, Oh Lonesome Me, Kansas, Mexico, Spirit Road, No Hidden Path, Ambulance Blues, Mellow, My Mind, The Believer, Like A Hurricane, Cowgirl In The Sand, The Sultan
