Jeff Tweedy and his Wilco band mates kicked off their spring tour on Monday night in Miami and included a few surprises in their sets. Towards the middle of the show, after a 15 minute intermission, the band treated the crowd to a seven song acoustic mini-set that featured a couple of tunes you wouldn’t exactly expect to hear unplugged – Spiders (Kidsmoke) and Outtamind (Outta Sight). The trend continued last night in Clearwater, so we’re guessing the acoustic sets will be a part of every show on the tour.

Also of note from the first two shows was the final song of each – a cover of Big Star’s Thank You Friends as a tribute to the recently deceased Big Star singer and guitarist Alex Chilton.
