Warren Haynes has extended the Gov’t Mule empire into the App World with the launch of a new Instructional Guitar App based on the band’s music. Touch Chords: Gov’t Mule includes official tabs for four songs off of By A Thread and also features transcriptions and chord arrangements.
The four songs included on this free App are Brokedown on the Brazos, Forevermore, Frozen Fear and Gordon James. Here’s a run down of the features from the App’s creator, Curious Brains…
- See the music while you hear it… the best way to learn to play it yourself.
- Practice through multiple arrangements per song: Warren’s solos, rhythm guitar tracks, and a special “open chords” only arrangement for beginners.
- View translucent hand images for each chord. See exactly where to put your fingers on the neck to play comfortably. A much better way to learn a chord than a typical chord diagram!
- Just Chords: If you’ve already learned a few chords and want to play songs that use what you know, tap “Just Chords” to see the chords in each song.
- Tempo control and metronome: When practicing with the virtual guitar audio, use the tempo slider to learn at your own speed.
