Four Mile Canyon Revival Benefit: Phish, String Cheese, YMSB and More

Phish Fall Tour 2010 just got a little bigger with the announcement that the band members will perform at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, CO on October 9. The show is a benefit for the Boulder Mountain Fire Relief Fund with all proceeds going towards that charity. The boys join Colorado bands The String Cheese Incident, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Yonder Mountain String Band and Vince Herman & Drew Emmitt on the bill.

Phish first played Colorado in 1988 and “has always felt a deep connection to the community” leading them to take part in the event that will raise funds raise funds for individuals and families directly affected by the devastating Fourmile Fire near Boulder. Tickets for this show go on sale on Tuesday, September 21 at 10AM MDT via Tickethorse.com.

The announcement on Phish.com lists the band members individually leading us to question whether they are playing a set by themselves. Regardless, although rare this isn’t the first time Phish has added a performance to a tour after the initial announcement. It happened as recently as last summer when a Knoxville date was added to the band’s Summer Tour along with the Fenway show and a third Jones Beach performance. Before that, you can look to the group’s “Final Tour” in 2004 when a Hampton show became the only date Phish added after announcing their intentions to break up after Coventry. Kudos to the bands for supporting this worthy cause.

  1. Yes BT, fenway was added to the tour prior to the Jones Beach run, it was announced after the original tour plans, there was even a separate video on Phish.com for fenway

  2. jones beach added a night after the tour was announced last yr, the first night, tues was added after the initial annoucnemt

  3. I believe that they listed their names separately in order to try and give some of us locals a chance to actually get tickets to the show. We had a whole 2 minutes this time which was about twice as long as the tickets for either Telluride or Broomfield when the title on the ticket site said “Phish”.

I’m a big fan of ALL of these bands and it is going to be an EPIC show no matter whom plays with whom!!!

  4. i got my tickets! i wish more local people would have gotten there’s instead of all these scalpers that are totally defeating the purpose of the show- raising money for the fire victims, shame on them! im ready to rage once again with all my fellow CO bands! i might loose my face! (literally!)

  5. I don’t believe any scalpers got tix, because they are all paperless. You need credit card and ID to get in. And as far as Broomfield, they didn’t sell out in 2 minutes, the site just froze and couldn’t handle the volume. I got Sunday tix at 12:45 and know some people that got tix at 1pm. You just have to be persistent once in a while.

  6. paperless tickets have not eliminated or even deterred ticket brokers (scalpers). most venues do not require identification, only the credit card used to make the purchase. brokers have easily adapted to the system, simply by purchasing a prepaid credit card, which they then send to their customer to redeem the ticket. i applaud the effort by companies such as ticket horse, but as usual, where there’s a will, there’s a way.

  7. CO local bummed out cause he couldn’t get tickets for revival. Would love to find a ticket if anybody can help. I will buy it or Willing to make some trades, have some halloween tickets and I might not be able to make it. Please email me at [email protected]

  9. Thanks for the attention, and for using my graphic. I wish I could have come up with something better at short notice. We appreciate the support from all who contributed. Would have been awesome to have had tickets for all who wanted to see it…john is correct, scalpers will always find a way to get around the system, but at this point the flash seats system is as good as it gets.
