Four Mile Canyon Revival Benefit: Phish, String Cheese, YMSB and More

Phish Fall Tour 2010 just got a little bigger with the announcement that the band members will perform at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, CO on October 9. The show is a benefit for the Boulder Mountain Fire Relief Fund with all proceeds going towards that charity. The boys join Colorado bands The String Cheese Incident, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Yonder Mountain String Band and Vince Herman & Drew Emmitt on the bill.

Phish first played Colorado in 1988 and “has always felt a deep connection to the community” leading them to take part in the event that will raise funds raise funds for individuals and families directly affected by the devastating Fourmile Fire near Boulder. Tickets for this show go on sale on Tuesday, September 21 at 10AM MDT via Tickethorse.com.

The announcement on Phish.com lists the band members individually leading us to question whether they are playing a set by themselves. Regardless, although rare this isn’t the first time Phish has added a performance to a tour after the initial announcement. It happened as recently as last summer when a Knoxville date was added to the band’s Summer Tour along with the Fenway show and a third Jones Beach performance. Before that, you can look to the group’s “Final Tour” in 2004 when a Hampton show became the only date Phish added after announcing their intentions to break up after Coventry. Kudos to the bands for supporting this worthy cause.
