Widespread Panic Plays First Two Albums @ Tunes For Tots Benefit in Atlanta

Georgia boys Widespread Panic performed two sets for a Tunes For Tots Benefit at Center Stage in Atlanta last night and treated the intimate crowd to complete versions of their first two albums as each of the sets. Set One featured all of the Capricorn release of Space Wrangler while Set Two contained all of the band’s self-titled sophomore release, aka Mom’s Kitchen.

This wasn’t the first time the band attempted to play these albums in their entirety. On December 31, 2008, the group made it through Breathing Slow in a first set that contained nearly all of Space Wrangler, while a September 2, 2009 performance featured all of Mom’s Kitchen. The money raised at last night’s show will help fund music education programs. Widespread Panic kicks off two nights at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta this evening and continuing tomorrow.

  1. WOW, they sure are pulling out all the stops so far this fall. Hopefully they have something left for us in Milwaukee (they always do). They also played Ain’t Life Grand – slightly out of order – at Red Rocks on 6/22/01.

Panicstream already has it up, too: http://bit.ly/b43sH1
