Jay Reatard’s band have quit midway through his Autumn tour of North America.
In a statement on the singers Twitter, the Memphis garage punk musician broke the news.
"Band quit! Fuck them! They are boring rich kids who can’t play for [s]hit anyways." The singer revealed on – Twitter.com/JayReatard. "Say hello to your ugly and boring wifes, opps I mean lifes guys suck it." He added.
Without a band his current tour of the US and visit to the UK and Ireland next month seem somewhat in doubt.
However, Pitchfork reports that while a representative for Reatard has confirmed the band have quit, no upcoming tour dates have been cancelled and that he is looking for a new band.
