Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island and New York City, respectively, Last Good Tooth make pop music, but not in the easiest sense of the word. On their upcoming album, And All Things On The Scales, the group takes a complex approach to what seems on the surface to something far more simple. The band is made up of Penn Sultan (lead guitar, vocals), Alex Spoto (violin), Kevin Sullivan (electric bass), and Arthur Kapp (drums), who manage to orchestrate chaos – to build a house and then hide the nails – giving their music a ramshackle but composed feel which is structured without being overly reverent, and ambient without being lazy.
