The Gathering of the Vibes Music Festival in Bridgeport, CDT is taking a one-year hiatus. Founder Ken Hayes posted a note on the festival’s site Friday saying he has decided not to pursue holding a festival in 2016. He also said the festival will return and the hiatus is simply a “pause, an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the memories, explore new and exciting festival initiatives while planning our triumphant return in 2017.” The four-day festival celebrated its 20th anniversary this summer and its 11th appearance at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, where an estimated 25,000 people attended in July. The festival has been annually since 1996 when it was held at SUNY Purchase in Purchase, New York on May 24–26, Originally named “Deadhead Heaven: A Gathering of the Tribe” the artist Lineup inlucded Jazz Mandolin Project, Max Creek, moe., Ominous Seapods, Somah, Solar Circus, Stone Cold, Strangefolk,Voices of Joy, Zen Tricksters.
