Coachella will be shelling out the big bucks once again for 2016 it seems after it was reported that the festival, which takes place in Indio, California on April 15-17 and April 22-24, has landed not one but two majorly high-profile reunions. Rumors have been swirling for the the last few days with many outlets already confirming that Guns N’ Roses – or at least the long estranged duo of Axl Rose and Slash – will headline the festival. Earlier today the New York Times reported that “a person with direct knowledge of the festival’s plans, who was not authorized to discuss it publicly” had confirmed the Guns N’ Roses score. The story also reported that Coachella will announce its full lineup next week, and that there is still no word on who else will join Slash and Axl.
LCD Soundsystem played their final farewell show at Madison Square Garden in 2011 and since then there have been numerous rumors regarding the indie electro-pop band getting back together. The group has been fueling speculation of a reunion since dropping a new Christmas song on their website on December 24. According to the New York Times, even though “a spokesman for LCD Soundsystem declined to comment” on the reunion, it has been confirmed.
