Legendary Producer/Fifth Beatle George Martin Dies at 90

George Martin, the “Fifth Beatle” who signed the Fab Four to a label contract when no one else would and produced almost all their music has died at the age of 90. Martin was knighted in 1996 and his production work extended beyond the Beatles to Kate Bush, Celine Dion, America, Jeff Beck and Gerry & the Pacemakers among many names.

Beatles drummer Ringo Starr shared the news on Twitter, writing “Peace and love… George will be missed.” Details of his death are not yet clear.
