If 2016 couldn’t ALREADY be any worse with the losses of David Bowie, Glen Frey, Phife Dawg and more – now comes a very big blow: Prince. Prince Rogers Nelson (born June 7, 1958), known by his mononym Prince and “the artist formerly known as” passed away today at age 57 at his estate at Paisley Park. Truly one of music’s all time originals, Price released over 35 original albums over the course of his career including 1984’s mega-soundtrack Purple Rain and is considered a musical icon. A few days earlier Prince’s plane was diverted after he was taken ill during a flight and was then rushed to hospital in a ‘medical emergency’. Stay tuned for further details.
