Austin’s favorite latin funk band Grupo Fantasma taped a special hometown performance on the revered Austin City Limits show on Tuesday night. For nearly two hours the group made their way through original songs and tunes like a Spanish language rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” and Prince’s “Controversy.” Grupo also welcomed a handful of special guests, including Karl Denson, Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, accordion player Josh Baca of Los Texmaniacs, Mariachi Estrella, and members of their sister project Brownout, including founding member Adrian Quesada.
