Yo La Tengo Staging ‘Wheel Of Fate’ Concept Tour

Yo La Tengo have announced details of an upcoming concept tour of the US.

The Hoboken trio will begin a unique 13-date jaunt in January 2011, where the band will spin a wheel of fate before each show to determine the set.

"We’re going to split our performance into two sets," the group said on their official website YoLaTengo.com. "At the beginning of the night, we’ll bring a wheel of fortune? Fate? What are those carnival things called? On stage, and spin it. Whatever comes up, that’s what the first 45 minutes will be."

Among the possibilities for each gig the group could perform only songs starting with the letter ‘S’, take part in a Q&A session with music or even act out a classic sitcom.

Kicking off in Philadelphia on January 20, the gig-run will finish in Pittsburgh on February 5.

Yo La Tengo will play the following:

Philadelphia, PA The Trocadero (January 20)
Washington, DC 9:30 Club (21)
Carrboro, NC Cat’s Cradle (22, 23)
Orlando, FL The Social (25)
