Oasis Documentary Hits Theaters for One Night Only

‘Jumanji’ Celebrates Filming With Onset Photo
Just weeks after announcing the casting of Karen Gillan (Doctor Who), filming for the upcoming soft reboot/sequel to Jumanji has officially begun, and the cast celebrated with an onset photo from the forests of Hawaii. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (San Andreas) posted a picture to Instagram featuring him and co-stars Gillan, Kevin Hart (Get Hard), and Jack Black (The D Train) in costume and looking fierce. Johnson has previously described Jumanji as a continuation of the Robin Williams classic, with the film paying homage to the original film while updating the story for a new generation. Jumanji is currently slated for a July 28, 2017 release.
Jared Leto Signs On to Play Andy Warhol in New Biopic
Jared Leto (Suicide Squad) has signed on to play Andy Warhol in the upcoming biopic Warhol. Leto will also serve as producer of the film alongside Michael DeLuca, and Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street, Broadwalk Empire) is onboard to pen the script, based in part on Victor Bockris’ 1989 biography, Warhol: The Biography.
‘Labyrinth’ Lands Distribution Deal with Open Road
Open Road FIlms, the studio behind this year’s Best Picture winner, Spotlight, has acquired Johnny Depp’s upcoming Labyrinth, co-financing the film along with Miramax. Depp has signed onto to play LAPD Detective Russell Poole who, at the end of his career, becomes obsessed with solving the murder of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. In the film, Poole teams up with a reporter to attempt to unravel the mystery, opening doors that may potentially expose corruption and shake the LAPD to its core. Brad Furman (The Infiltrator) is on board to direct, and filming is set to start this November.

The First Trailer for ‘Passengers’ Has a Little Bit of Everything
The first trailer for director Morten Tyldum’s (The Imitation Game) sci-fi romance Passengers has been released. Watch Chris Pratt (The Magnificent Seven) and Jennifer Lawrence (Joy) as two members of a long distance mission to a far off planet who wake up from their hibernation 90 years too early. From the trailer, this film looks jam packed with romance, mystery, intrigue, and action as the two crew members attempt to figure out what went wrong and start a life of solitude together. Passengers is currently in post-production and is anticipated for release on December 21 of this year.
