Expands to four days of camping and music as Warren Haynes welcomes a wide variety of acts including My Morning Jacket, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Avett Brothers and, of course, Gov’t Mule.

Taking place at Hunter Mountain in Hunter, N.Y, June 2-5 and presented by Allman Brothers Band / Gov’t Mule guitarist Haynes and Radio Woodstock, this year’s Mountain Jam will also include the first-ever performance at a major northeast festival by Hayne’s new group, the soul-based Warren Haynes Band.

This year’s event will feature several acts playing the festival for the first time. Mountain Jam newbies include Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Electric Hot Tuna, Mavis Staples, Portugal. The Man, Toubab Krewe and Tim Reynolds And TR3.

But Mountain Jam doesn’t roll up the stage after the evening’s headline act completes its final encore. There’s plenty of late-night entertainment inside and outside Hunter Mountain’s Colonel’s Hall from bands like Lotus, The New Deal and the recently formed 7 Walkers featuring Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, The Meters’ George Porter Jr., Papa Mali and Matt Hubbard.

For the first time in its history Mountain Jam will provide tunes for early arrivals on June 2 in the form of performances by Soulive performing a set of instrumental Beatles songs from the band’s latest album, Rubber Soulive. Also playing for early birds will be Brooklyn-based The London Souls plus a band to be named later.
