SONG PREMIERE: Vandoliers Rock Out In Barnburner “Blaze of Glory”

On October 21st the Dallas-based band Vandoliers release their new album Ameri-Kinda. The title is fitting considering this band is an eclectic mix that goes beyond your standard Americana pigeonholing. With lead singer Joshua Fleming’s background, rock influences are evident, but the band also brings Tejano and bluegrass into the fold, all while playing anthems about hitting the highway, draining beer bottles, rallying against your opponents and, occasionally, dropping acid.

Today, Glide Magazine is presenting a premiere of one of the most rousing tunes on Ameri-Kinda, the aptly titled “Blaze of Glory”. The second you hear it, you are immediately brought into a dusty Texas roadhouse soaked in dancing and Shiner Bock. Fleming’s sandy vocals blend well with with fiery guitar shredding, making for one hell of a good time.

Frontman Joshua Fleming describes the song in his own words:

“Blaze of Glory” is the barnburner of our catalog. It’s usually the grand finale of our sets, the brink of what we are before the wheels fly off. It’s got giant drums, blistering fiddles, fuzzy guitars and high-flying melodies – kind of like a tune my old punk band would have done. We like to close the night with this song for that reason. The lyrics are an anthem for the night traveler. We tour really hard, burning the candle at both ends, sometimes foregoing hotels in favor of overnight drives just to make it to the next gig on time.
