VIDEO PREMIERE: Great American Canyon Band Offer Dreamy Take On “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore”

Paul and Kris Masson have always known one another. In their early lives, when they felt unfamiliar to themselves, it was the idea of the other that led them forward. And on the night they finally encountered each other, it only took one look. There were no reasons needed, they just obliged what had already been in motion. Their love of each other and love of music is what led them to form the Great American Canyon Band. The project is both an answer to their limitations and the expression of their deepest yearnings, and together they create their own brand of dreamy folk music.

Recently they participated in Amazon Music’s Love Me and Love Me Not, two different playlists feature original songs and covers from a wide range of artists like Ingrid Michaelson, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Tacocat, Okkervil River, Kadhja Bonet and more. The playlists are available for streaming exclusively on Amazon Music—both Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music. Together, Love Me and Love Me Not offer over 70 new recordings to help embrace the love in the air or alternately, ease the pain of heartbreak.

One of those songs is the Great American Canyon Band’s heartfelt take on the classic “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore”, a song that was recorded by the likes of The Walker Brothers, Frankie Valli, and Neil Diamond among others. Today Glide Magazine is offering an exclusive premiere of the performance video that GACB recorded for the song. In their version, gorgeous, sunwashed harmonies shine through, bringing to mind a 70’s psychedelic folk sound. Speaking on the recording, Paul and Kris Masson say simply, “We’d like to thank Ben Pranger, Trace Faulkner and Zoltan Tobak for playing such a timeless and unforgettable song with us that day.”

I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear
your head prior to writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost simply just trying to figure
out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Thank you!
