VIDEO PREMIERE: The Deslondes Perform “Déjà Vu And A Blue Moon” at Willie Nelson’s Studio for the Luck Sessions

If you were lucky enough to make it out to Willie Nelson’s fabled old west ghost town Luck, Texas during SXSW this year, then you would have experienced one hell of a party. Billed as the Luck Reunion, the inclusive gathering brought in a slew of acts like Valerie June, Margo Price, Conor Oberst, and of course the Red-Headed Stranger himself. You can read our review of this year’s Luck Reunion HERE. Most of the action took place on the various stages around the property, but a handful of acts also gathered in Willie Nelson’s own studio for special recording sessions. The Luck Sessions included stripped down artist sessions from The Deslondes, Goldstar, Kasey Chambers, Horse Thief, Valley Queen, Langhorne Slim, Thayer Serrano, and Phoebe Bridgers.

Today Glide Magazine is excited to present an exclusive premiere of the session featuring New Orleans country ramblers The Deslondes. “Déjà Vu And A Blue Moon” is the final track on their new album Hurry Home, which is due out June 23rd via New West Records. The slow song is loaded with harmonicas and harmonies, two things these guys do real well, and lyrics of life on the road that bring to mind simpler days. As part of the video, the band also sheds some light on their backstory and their philosophy towards music.
