VIDEO PREMIERE: Guitar Virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel Performs “The Mystery” ‘Live! At the Ryman’

When the esteemed Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel had a gig at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville last year, he decided it might be best to capture the moment. This is, after all, a picker known for his unique fingerstyle and stunning complexity, and also for never putting on the same performance. The result is Live! At The Ryman, a live album, which came out in May. Recorded on February 27, 2016, the performance from this Grammy Award-winning guitarist is essential listening for those that appreciate intricate and at times mind-bending picking.

Luckily for us, Emmanuel’s performance was also recorded on video, and today Glide Magazine is excited to premiere his performance of the song “The Mystery”. The song is the title track off Emmanuel’s 2006 Grammy-nominated album of the same name. In the live setting “The Mystery” feels like a laid back instrumental folk tune, hopefully and forward-moving as Emmanuel adds flourishes along the way to spice it up.
