Film Bits: Warner Brothers Reportedly Developing Joker and Harley Love Story

Warner Brothers Announces Another Joker-Centric Project

Looks like the joke’s on us. Well, the Joker, to be more precise. A day after announcing a non-canon Joker origin story movie from producer Martin Scorsese and director Todd Phillips, it’s been revealed that yet another Joker-centric movie is in the works, with Jared Leto and Margot Robbie each set to reprise their roles as Joker and Harley Quinn. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, screenwriters of 2011’s Crazy Stupid Love, are reportedly in final negotiations to pen a dark romance about the two famed Batman villains. The new film is set to begin production shortly after the duo next appear in Suicide Squad 2, which is currently being fast-tracked by Warner Brothers. Harley Quinn is also set to appear, with Joker, in the upcoming Gotham City Sirens, though it’s unclear just how all of these films will play into each other and how they’ll work in the larger DCEU.

Netflix Releases Season 4 Trailer for ‘BoJack Horseman’

The animated genre bender BoJack Horseman is heading into its fourth season next month, and Netflix just gave us our first hint of what’s to come for the existential dramedy. BoJack seems to have gone missing following the soul-crushing events of last season, while his world has continued on without him. It’s hard to tell how they’re going to top themselves with the upcoming season, BoJack has a way of kicking you when you’re down—and making you enjoy it. Whatever. If we can get another episode as moving as last year’s “Fish Out of Water” then I’ll take whatever emotional abuse they’re willing to give me. BoJack Horseman premieres September 8.
