The Real Tuesday Weld Premieres New Animated Video

Idiosyncratic indie-pop band The Real Tuesday Weld premiered the animated video for “Me and Mr. Wolf,” on November 15. The song— available now for free download in partnership with Rcrdlbl— comes from the July 12 release of “The Last Werewolf,” the soundtrack to the novel of the same name by Glen Duncan.

The video, directed by George Fort, and produced in collaboration with wife Monica Smith at Monkey Frog Media draws influences from monster movies such as “The Wolfman” (1941), old classic Noir and old 30’s cartoons, surrealist films and art to add interest and suspense. The final product is an animated, yet dark collage of violence, friendship, transformation and love.

The Real Tuesday Weld auteur Stephen Coates describes the video as a “psychodrama about the fear of falling in love,” as the tables are turned with the wolf getting consumed rather than Red, in a play on the classic, traditional tale of “Little Red Riding Hood.” Watch the video below:

“The Last Werewolf” is available everywhere now on Six Degrees Records. For more information, please visit the band’s website.
