Dead Feat Returns To NOLA For One Night Only

CEG Presents & Nolafunk are proud to present the return of Dead Feat to Republic NOLAThursday May 3rd, as part of the 7th Annual Nolafunk Series During Jazz Fest, which will take place during the evenings and weekends of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, from April 27 to May 6, 2018.

Dead Feat is a unique band which has only performed during Jazz Fest which dives into the Grateful Dead and Little Feat repertoires as well as other cover songs and originals by the individual artists involved. The band features Anders OsborneJackie Greene(Phil & Friends, The Black Crowes), Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett (Little Feat), Brady Blade (Dave Matthews & Friends), Carl Dufrene, along with special guests to be announced. The band was originally formed by Nolafunk back in 2011 and is one of the most popular late-nights during Jazz Fest. Since 2012, the band has performed two consecutive nights on a given weekend during Jazz Fest. This year, due to scheduling, it will be just one night, so tickets are expected to sell out quickly.

As always, the Nolafunk Series During Jazz Fest features a diverse collection of performances from musicians inside and out of the New Orleans cultural sphere who all embrace the spirit and essence of the city. The series has preserved its tradition of unique lineup pairings, combining older and younger musicians, as well as national acts with local legends.

Just announced last week, Big Freedia, the Queen of New Orleans Bounce, will bring her rapid fire beats and booty-shaking to Republic NOLA Saturday, May 5th for “Cinco De Freedia” with special guests Boyfriend, whom Rolling Stone defines as “high-concept booty bass”, and Sweet Crude, a New Orleans-based band that blends synth-based pop with lyrics in English and Louisiana French.

The series will also feature Voodoo Dead, one of the most sought-after late-nights during Jazz Fest, and this year they will play two nights at Republic NOLA on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28. The band features Steve Kimock, Jeff Chimenti (Dead & Co.),Jackie Greene, George Porter Jr., and JM Kimock (Mike Gordon) plus special guests to be announced. The band’s shows are the perfect union of Grateful Dead and New Orleans music, and everything in between.

Under the Nolafunk moniker, Manhattan-based CEG honors the musical heroes and spirit of New Orleans in New York City year ‘round, producing concerts in the Big Apple featuring many of the Big Easy’s finest musicians, such as Rebirth Brass Band, Anders Osborne, Kermit Ruffins, Dr. John & the Nite Trippers and many more. In addition, CEG amasses all-star Nola-centric lineups for both the annual Nolafunk Mardi Gras Ball and the annual Nolafunk Summer Jazz Fest. CEG & Nolafunk have been producing shows in New Orleans since 2007.
