Thrice Announce Farewell Tour

Southern California’s Thrice  have announced he dates for their farewell spring tour.  After thirteen years together, singer/guitarist Dustin Kensrue, guitarist Teppei Teranishi, bassist Eddie Breckenridge and drummer Riley Breckenridge will begin their final tour together on May 4 in San Diego, California. The tour spans major cities in North America and is set to wrap with a hometown two-night stand at House of Blues in Anaheim followed by the final show in Los Angeles at Club Nokia. In November 2011 Thrice announced that the band would be taking an indefinite hiatus following the spring tour.

Thrice will be recording live audio at select stops along to the tour for a proposed live album slated for release in late 2012. Supporting Thrice on all dates will be Animals As Leaders with more information including the announcement of additional support bands and details of commemorative merchandise available at the shows will be announced in the coming weeks.

Thrice released their first proper full-length, Identity Crisis, in 2001 and quickly stormed to the forefront of the indie music scene as listeners rejoiced and formed what can only be described as a cult following. Thrice went on to release six highly praised albums – fan favorites The Illusion Of Safety (2002), The Artist In The Ambulance (2003) and Vheissu (2005), the brilliant and intricate four-piece concept album The Alchemy Index: Fire and Water (2007) and Earth and Air (2008), and the band-centric masterpiece, Beggars (2009). Thrice released their most recent full length, Major/Minor last September on Vagrant Records.  Thrice has become a staple in the alternative-modern-rock world for nearly ten years now and is known for effortlessly and continuously releasing groundbreaking records.

Thrice was recently recognized by their local music community with the announcement that the band has been nominated for Best Album (Major/Minor), Best Song (“Promises”), and Best Rock band for the 2012 OC Music Awards. In addition, the band will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award when the awards ceremony is held on Saturday, March 3.
