Dear Boy Releases Video For “Love Interest”

Dear Boy has officially released a new video for their young lovers anthem “Love Interest.” They’re emerging onto the scene as one of the hottest up-and-coming bands in ALT rock. Spending much of their 2018 touring with Rogue Wave across the country, Dear Boy is definitely working on finishing their new EP.

They worked with Ian Hultquist formerly of Passion Pit to record “Love Interest.” During an interview with the band just over a month ago, the band was asked about the process behind the recording of the song. Lead singer/guitarist Ben Grey and Austin Hayman broke it down as..

“We recorded this song (Love Interest) backwards. Generally, you like to record the drums, bass, then guitar, then vocals. This time we decided to record the drums last. Before we put in the drums, we wanted to color the soundscape, and then have the drums support that. It was a weird approach. It was Ian’s idea, but now when I hear it, I’m like cool he was right.”

The video seemingly captures exactly what Dear Boy wanted to accomplish with the song. Provides a colorful, yet free-living sensation and helps bring the song together. The lyrics noticeably match the video, especially when the chorus hits, “Could you be the one to breathe life into me? Love Interest.”

Their new EP is expected to be released later this year. Just like their previous EP “Parts of A Flower,” they wanted to record it song by song until it ultimately comes together. They’ve been quite busy with the tour, but definitely be on the lookout for more music coming from Dear Boy.
