We’re approaching only a couple weeks away from the release of Wiz Khalifa’s highly anticipated album Rolling Papers 2 which is expected to be released on July 13th. Khalifa is getting set to hit the road this summer with Rae Sremmurd on the Dazed and Blazed Tour, beginning on July 21st in Detroit, Michigan at the DTE Energy Music Theatre.
In addition, the Pittsburgh native rapper has released a new single entitled “Hopeless Romantic,” which features one half of Rae Sremmurd with Swae Lee. When it comes to releasing new music timing is everything. Not to mention, it’s the first official day of summer. Two years in a row, Khalifa has released a timely summer anthem. Of course, last year’s hit single “Something New,” which featured Taylor Gang’s Ty Dolla $ign. “Hopeless Romantic” is definitely one of those kick-back songs for the “Taylors.” Swae Lee couldn’t have executed the catchy hook any better than he managed to do. ” My night runs into morning, and through my phone I’m scrolling, off the drank it’s hard to focus, seems like I’m always chosen by romantics that are hopeless.”
Furthermore, Khalifa showcased his versatility he’s capable of providing with his verse on the track. Not only can he rap about weed, partying and motivate his fans, but he can also speak to the women he expresses interest in on a song as well. The way he finished his verse with, “I’m getting all of my checks, I’m winning all of my bets, No I ain’t letting you down , baby I’m giving one hundred percent.” Then, Swae Lee returns with the hook and completely brings the track together.
If you’re a fan of either Khalifa or Rae Sremmurd this upcoming summer tour will be a can’t-miss. Obviously, the excitement for Rolling Papers 2 is growing by the day and it’ll be a successful summer for Taylor Gang.
