It’s not very often that you see a seven-person band as the opening act of a show, but that is exactly what Hudson Taylor brought to New York City’s Beacon Theatre for their three-night run opening for Hozier on September 25. The Irish sibling duo brought songs from their latest mini-album ‘Bear Creek To Dame Street’ which is half new songs recorded in the studio and half live recordings from a sold-out show at the famed Olympia Theatre.
The new tracks on the album give you a hint to where the duo is headed but the live tracks reaffirm their position as an excellent touring band. Their opening set for Hozier brought a well-cured group to a larger audience and with the heavily toured material showed that it’s not long before the next Hozier may be opening for them soon.
You can catch Hudson Taylor touring stateside through the end of October, after which they’ll make an extensive run through Europe before wrapping up in Ireland to close out 2018.
