On Friday and Saturday, December 14th and 15th, California rockers The Mother Hips will return to the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco for their holiday shows, a long-standing annual tradition. On Friday the 14th, the band will perform an “Ultimate Setlist Show” for the fourth time. The band summons their fans to submit their favorite Hips songs that make up their dream show. The Mother Hips then choose one lucky fans’ submission to play in order and in its entirety. The band will post instructions on how and where to submit a setlist. On Saturday the 15th, the Mother Hips will return to playing their usual blistering long set of material encompassing their 25+ year career as a band. And on Sunday, December 16th, the band will return to Slim’s for their 4th Annual Holiday Acoustic Matinee show at Slim’s in San Francisco.
Sweetwater Music Hall will host the Mother Hips for two shows on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 30th and 31st in Mill Valley, CA. The first will be a seated full-band acoustic show on October 30th. A Rock n’ Roll Halloween Bash will take place on the 31st.
The Mother Hips are on tour in support of their new record ‘Chorus’ out on Blue Rose Records. Band members Tim Bluhm, Greg Loiacono and John Hofer enlisted the help of Jackie Greene on bass and Jason Crosby on keyboards for the recording sessions which took place at 25th Street Recording in Oakland, CA during the late summer of 2017. It was produced by Karl Derfler (Tom Waits, Roky Erikson, Flamin’ Groovies).
