The Roots, Dr. Dog, Yonder Mountain String Band Confirmed For McDowell Mountain Music Festival

After being held the last three years in a parking lot outside the former Compound Grill, The 2013 McDowell Mountain Music Festival will be held at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix March 22, 23, 24, 2013. This is a welcomed change, as the festival had much prior success at the Westworld Complex in Scottsdale, AZ in its first six years, that offered spacious venue space, overnight camping and big name acts  that included The Black Crowes, The Flaming Lips, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and The John Butler Band.

While the location doesn’t offer camping, organizers are looking into having an option soon.  Margaret Hance Parks offers close access to the light rail system and is within close walking distance of The Crescent Ballroom where after party shows will take place.   Although the lineup is still being put together, The Roots, Balkan Beat Box, Heartless Bastards, Dr. Dog and Yonder Mountain String Band are the confirmed acts so far.
