Warner Brothers have just announced that there will be a theatrical release of Bruce Springsteen’s, Western Stars. The film will be premiered next month at the Toronto International Film Festival. A worldwide theatrical release will follow later this year.
Working again with film editor, Thom Zimmy, Springsteen directed the film around distressing themes of love and loss. Zimmy is predominantly known for his work on Netflix hit: Springsteen on Broadway.
The film utilizes music from Springsteen’s latest album release, also named Western Stars. He speaks of no plans to tour the musical body of work, therefore Springsteen ensured this film adaptation. It shows a full rendition of the album, performed by Bruce himself, alongside a full orchestra and exclusive footage.
