Gino and the Goons are an American rock ‘n roll band. They are fast and loose, loose, and loud. Not so fast you can’t dance and not to loose where you’ll catch a VD. Gino Bambino started this band in 2007 and he will end it when he sees fit. Goons come and go. Some come and come again. Others don’t. Stationed in Tampa, Florida, and traveling all over the world, they want to come to your town and boogie down. They want to make you sweat, dance, and laugh all at once. In the spirit of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, they bring you a fart sound of today…I meant, fresh. A fresh sound of today. Rock ‘n roll is forever! Gino and the Goons are forever!
On December 6th Gino and the Goons are back with a 10 song ripper called Off The Rails that was mixed and mastered by the infamous Jim Diamond and set to be released by the garage punk imprint Big Neck Records!
Today Glide is excited to premiere the band’s new single “She Can Take It”. Gritty and rough in the best kind of way, the song brings to mind acts like the Ramones playing a lowdown, gloriously beer-soaked dive bar. Channeling other rock ‘n roll greats like the Stooges, the MC5, and Johnny Thunders, the band blasts their way through a smashing cacophony of jagged guitars and drums being pounded with violent fervor. Yet somehow, the band manages to keep the tune infectious and melodic, inviting you the listener to sing a long and thrash about with the band. Coming in at just over two minutes, “She Can Take It” is the sort of straight to the veins rock ‘n roll that is an increasingly rare commodity these days and should therefore be savored.Â
