Movies with Memorable Casino Slots Scenes

There have been many movies that have had memorable slots scenes, and in many of them, they end with someone yelling “jackpot!” It is always nice to see movies where a person’s life is changed by a simple pull of the slots handle.

Slots jackpots happen all of the time, and movies have captured the excitement that people feel when that happens by showing them on the big screen. Here are a few casino slot scenes in movies that are very memorable.

Ocean’s Thirteen

In Ocean’s Thirteen, George Clooney and Brad Pitt are at it a third time trying to take down a casino mogul that took advantage of their friend. They devise an intricate plan to twerk the computer system for the grand opening of the casino in order for all plays to be wins and, therefore, costing the casino owner millions of dollars.

One part of the plan is to deal with an important food reviewer that is coming to the grand opening of the casino to check out their high-end restaurants. Clooney and his cohorts deliberately make the reviewer so sick that he has a miserable stay, and you can be sure his review will not be a kind one.

When the reviewer is at the airport on his way home, Brad Pitt’s character is playing slots. He sees the reviewer come by and tells him he should play this slots game, as it is bound to hit. The reviewer does just that and hits it big with a massive jackpot on the, obviously, rigged machine.

Casino

In Martin Scorsese‘s classic, Casino, with Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, and Sharon Stone, there are many great slot scenes. In terms of movies with memorable slots scenes, Casino stands out with one where DeNiro’s character fires a bumpkin, who does not pick up that the casino is being scammed.

In the scene, two massive jackpots are hit very close together, and DeNiro comes down to see what has happened. The floor manager of that slots area is a country bumpkin, who fumbles with his explanation on what has happened, thinking it was just luck.

DeNiro’s character is furious and says the manager is too stupid to know what is going on, the rigging of new slot machines, or he is in on it. He fires the manager on the spot.

It turns out that the manager is the nephew of an old Las Vegas heavy hitter. He goes to DeNiro to get his nephew’s job back, but DeNiro will not do it, and that puts him on the wrong side of some powerful people in Sin City.

Vegas Vacation

Vegas Vacation is the fourth installment of the Vacation franchise, where the Griswolds head to Las Vegas. One of the running jokes in the movie is that Clark Griswold, played by Chevy Chase, can never win no matter what he plays while his son, Rusty, cannot lose.

An interesting fact about the Vacation franchise is that for the Griswold Family, the father and mother have been played by Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo in every movie, while the two kids, Rusty and Audrey, have been played by different actors in each film.

Things get so bad for Clark that after continuously losing he goes crazy at the blackjack table getting a push with the dealer. Rusty just keeps on winning and playing slots he wins four cars.

Clark asks him, “How did you win four cars?” Rusty responds, “You know, put in a dollar, win a car, put in another dollar, win another car.” Sounds pretty simple.

Rusty is playing at the slots in the casino, and think about how much the lucky winner could win playing online. Online you don’t need to try and get free spins; they are giving them away all the time. The free spins are probably the least Rusty would have won.

What Happens In Vegas

Ok, so What Happens in Vegas starring Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz may not be the most memorable romantic comedy of all time, but it still raked in nearly $220 million. Still, the movie does have a very memorable slots scene.

Because of a computer error, Kutcher and Diaz’s characters are booked into the same Las Vegas casino hotel room. The issue is resolved, with each getting a suite as well as casino nightclub coupons.

The two hit the clubs and end up getting drunk and, since it is in Las Vegas, they decide to get married. In the morning, they are shocked with the drunken nuptials and decide to get a divorce once back in New York.

In the lounge, Diaz’s character gives Kutcher’s character a quarter, and he pops it in a slot machine and starts to walk away. Well, he hits the jackpot and wins $3 million. Since they are still technically married, Diaz believes she is entitled to half of the money, and that sets the stage for the movie. Spoiler alert: The two end up together.
