The latest installment of the Grateful Dead’s weekly (Friday) archival stream Shakedown Stream features a previously unreleased concert from June 11, 1993 at Buckeye Lake in central Ohio. This show, which represents the third episode of the series, features a healthy mix of old material (“Jack Straw”, “Eyes of the World”, “Black Peter”) alongside several new songs which had recently been introduced into the Dead’s repertoire (“Lazy River Road”, “So Many Roads”, “Corrina”). While these performances of “Foolish Heart” & “So Many Roads” have already been selected for the Dead’s other weekly YouTube series All The Years Live, official video content of the remainder of this concert has otherwise never been released to the public (fan footage of the entire show, which had been available on YouTube for years, was recently blocked due to a copyright claim.)
This week’s stream – which benefits Sweet Relief Musicians Fund – will once again kick things off with a live chat hosted by Dead archivist David Lemieux & SiriusXM host Gary Lambert with special guest Jesse Jarnow.
“Who’s ready for an all out ’90s get down this week? Grateful Dead scribe Jesse Jarnow will be hangin’ with hosts David Lemieux and Gary Lambert for the live pre-show starting at 8pm ET / 5pm PT before the debut of the previously unreleased “Live At Buckeye Lake” 6/11/93. Submit your questions for Dave, Gary, and Jesse here
We’ll be rolling music before the show so set a reminder and come on over early and chat with fellow Dead Heads worldwide.
This week we are proud to support Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. Funds raised will go towards medical expenses, lodging, clothing, food and other vital living expenses to musicians and music industry workers impacted due to sickness or loss of work.”
