Israel Nash, Black Mountain, Mac DeMarco On Tap For Next Week’s ‘Pickathon A Concert A Day’

Pickathon has announced the fifth week of Pickathon Presents A Concert A Day. Starting this week Spotify will match any donation raised during these livestreams, so for every dollar raised for MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund, Spotify will also kick in a dollar!

Kicking off on Monday, May 4 will be Texas genre-bending rock ‘n’ roller Israel Nash from his 2015 Treeline Stage performance. That was just a year after Nash released Rain Plans on Thirty Tigers, prompting KEXP to say that he had an “idealism worth sharing in any weather.” On Tuesday Joan Shelley’s 2015 interview and performance in the Lucky Barn will be shown. Wednesday will be psych-rock astronauts Black Mountain from their 2016 Galaxy Barn show and Thursday Mac DeMarco‘s 2014 Woods Stage set is on tap. Nathaniel Rateliff brought the same kind of reverence to his sets at Pickathon, using last year’s festival appearances not just to showcase his new music, but also to travel back in time a bit. For his 2019 Woods Stage set, he assembled a band of old compatriots to showcase his earlier, folkier side -stay tuned on Friday. New York country singer Zephaniah OHora is an out-of-left-field artist who totally reinvigorated the lost and much-maligned countrypolitan era of country music. Closing out the week, Black Milk & Nat Turner brought together the cutting edge of both jazz and hip-hop with their 2017 stage set, following on the heels of fusion giants like Kamasi Washington and Thundercat at Pickathon a year or so before.

With partnership from The Recording Academy, A Concert A Day brings 60 concerts from Pickathon over 60 days, premiering each day at 1:00 pm (Pacific Time) on Facebook, Twitch (via Amazon Music), and YouTube. All donations go directly to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. Thanks to Amazon Music, The Recording Academy, Spotify, Bandsintown, Wayfinder Beer, Brew Dr. Kombucha, Klean Kanteen, Travel Portland, Brooklyn Vegan, Live for Live Music, and American Songwriter.
