Five Essential Casino Music Venues

Hit the music! The most notable gigs held in casino venues

Music is a vital part of life and a great way to relax when not busy with work or family. Of course, you can also get more from music by going along to gigs by artists or bands you love. Even if a group is not your favorite, the energy and atmosphere at a live show can still make it memorable.

As well as who is performing, the venue in which the gig unfolds can also have a significant impact on how it all goes. Looking out for gigs in unusual venues is worthwhile. Casinos fall into this category and checking out a show at a live music casino venue always promises a good time. That is illustrated by the amount of iconic and memorable performances that venues like this have hosted down the years. The often long period waiting for the act to appear can be trying. That is why some spectators make use of their smartphone to play a game online or to have some fun with a Betfair Casino no deposit bonus to make the waiting time more profitable.

But which are the most notable gigs to have being held at casinos complexes?

Hard Rock Las Vegas

When it comes to impressive casino venues that like to turn up the music, few can match Hard Rock Las Vegas. Although it might be closed now, it is due to open as the rebranded Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in November 2020. The list of legendary gigs ‘The Joint’ has seen remains impressive. Top of the list for many was a 2009 show by local boys The Killers. The gig showcased not only their anthemic tunes but also their superb showmanship to great effect. The classic Paul McCartney set in the same year also lives long in the memory for the vast range of hits he played.

Borgata, Atlantic City

New Jersey is another place that has a crucial role in the whole US casino sector and a reputation for excitement. The Borgata in Atlantic City certainly has this and can also look back to a string of notable gigs. One of the biggest in recent memory was a 2020 performance from hip-hop legend Jay-Z. Playing all his best-known tracks, he wowed crowds with his quick wordplay and commanding stage presence. For those who like to rock out instead, the 2019 show by top band Aerosmith was also a night to remember.

MGM Grand, Las Vegas

Moving back to Las Vegas, we focus on a true icon of the city – the glitzy and glamorous MGM Grand. Open since 1993, it has seen many bands and top stars pass through its Garden Arena in that time. In 2019, The Eagles played three nights there to a rapturous reception. These gigs not only saw them roll out some of their biggest hits, but they also played the revered ‘Hotel California’ album in its entirety. One other notable show was a storming U2 appearance in 2005, which saw them wow fans with classics like ‘The Fly’ and ‘Mysterious Ways.’ Like the 2018 U2 show in Boston, this was a real winner.

Encore at Wynn, Las Vegas

There are so many grand casino and music venues around Vegas, but the luxurious Encore at Wynn is undoubtedly a favorite of many. The gigs which this casino venue has put on over the years are also pretty impressive! Perhaps the biggest in recent times was the 2009 run of four shows pop superstar Beyoncé gave to promote her ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ album. With an intimate theme and stunning costume changes, she certainly gave fans their monies worth. Pop royalty Robbie Williams took his turn here in 2019, where his unique brand of English charm made his run of gigs special.

Hard Rock, Tulsa

We have already visited one stunning Hard Rock venue in Vegas, but their branch in Tulsa has had some fantastic gigs of its own to shout about. As you would expect from the venue name, rock plays a big part in its history. Few bands can match ZZ Top’s success and longevity – their 2013 gig in Tulsa indeed showed why. Hits such as ‘Gimme All Your Lovin’ and ‘Legs’ created an excellent atmosphere and left the Tulsa crowd eager for more. KISS is another band that has gone down in rock history books. Their 2017 show here was full of classic tunes, flamboyant showmanship, and good times for all.
