SONG PREMIERE: Dango Rose of Elephant Revival Shares Timeless Americana On ‘Ring Out’

Long before Dango Rose began his journey with the genre pioneering Transcendental Folk group, Elephant Revival, he was carving out his own unique musical path. After more than a decade of band accolades from the Americana and Folk music scenes, Dango Rose is excited to announce the upcoming release of a new single entitled “Ring Out.” The song welcomes a new approach for Rose, fusing traditional styles with protest and poetry.

“I greatly enjoy the collaborative process in songwriting,” explains Rose.  “In this case, my production partner Evan Reeves sent over a simple gospel-inspired guitar line that just clicked right away. The top line melody and lyrics were finished within fifteen minutes and shortly thereafter we had a working demo.  I’ve learned to trust when it happens this way.”

Great folk songs, great pop songs, and just great songs are amalgams of musical styles, cultures, and lyrical vernacular; moments in time capturing the universal. “Ring Out” emanates the exuberance of Southern Gospel, the anti-establishment of 60’s folk and punk, the grit and grease of old-time music and the spiritual transcendence of a great poet. “Ring Out” is a call for unity amidst this turbulent and incendiary time.

“In a time when everyone’s struggles have been magnified and the world is heavy with hurt, it is the artist, the musician and the poet who remind us how to unite. As I listen, Dango reminds me at the end of the day, we do have each other and we do have a voice,” wrote Cynthia D. Davis of Finding Folk.

Accompanying Rose on the track is Grammy Award-winning fiddler, Michael Cleveland.

Glide is thrilled to premiere “Ring Out” (below) a melodically crisp number that resonates with the vocal tenderness of Willie Nelson and the wide-reaching musical nods of Andrew Bird and Pokey Lafarge.

Ring Out is the initial offering of an A-Side/B-Side release.  The second song, Life’s Too Short, will be put out in late November.
