This Is Certified, Legacy Recordings’ division for the celebration of Sony Music’s Hip Hop and R&B catalog, is commemorating the 25th anniversary of Goodie Mob’s full-length debut, Soul Food with the November 6th release of a digital expanded edition of the album, an instrumental edition and new to DSP digital bundles showcasing four core tracks–with sought-after remixes, A cappella renditions and more–from the vault: “Cell Therapy,” “Soul Food,” “What Chu Know (aka Sesame Street)” and “Dirty South,” the signature song and sound that defined a generation of Atlanta hip hop.
The deluxe expanded 25th-anniversary edition of Soul Food presents the original album in its entirety plus 8 bonus tracks including 2 recently-discovered previously unreleased versions of “Free (Extended Mix w/ Rap)” with extra Goodie Mob verses. “Free (Extended Mix w/ Rap)” is also featured on the new single bundle for “What Chu Know (aka Sesame Street).”
Vinyl Me, Please, in association with SME/Certified/Legacy, will release a collectible 25th Anniversary 12″ vinyl pressing of Soul Food. Vinyl is available here.
A 25th anniversary edition of Soul Food (The Instrumental Album), a 14 track collection, will be available in digital for the first time.
A cornerstone of Atlanta hip hop and Goodie Mob history, Soul Food is the sonic preamble for the group’s forthcoming new album, executive produced by Organized Noize.
