‘After We Collided’ – Difficulties of Tessa’s Romance (Film Review)

The long-awaited sequel to the movie ‘After’ came out last September, to the benefit of fans everywhere. ‘After’ tells the story of Tessa and Hardin’s first meeting and falling in love. While ‘After We Collided’ picks up where the last one left off, Tessa and Hardin struggle to patch up their relationship.

Tessa is struggling to deal with her very complicated relationship with Hardin. And after the bomb Hardin just dropped on her, she faces a dilemma that could impact both their lives forever.

Tessa and Hardin’s romance in this movie is a difficult one. It’s not smooth like most film relationships are, but it includes loads of bumps and issues they both have to get through. It provides a realistic relationship to the audience while still maintaining some common romantic tropes and teenage love story clichés.

However, don’t be fooled; the movie is not at all dull or boring. Its smart mixture of laughable dialogue, movie humor, dramatic romance, and action ensures that you and your partner will not have a single boring moment in the cinema.

Good Idea for Watching On a First Date

For those looking for first date movie night ideas, look no further. The film is good for watching as a couple. According to iwantdating.com, it helps you to appreciate each other a little. Watching Tessa and Hardin forge through the issues that come their way like Tessa finding out Hardin chasing after she was a dare, new love interests, Hardin’s tortured past, his relationship with his father, and so on, helps you see your relationship in a new light.

The film is also great for already established couples, who have gone on previous dates, to watch together. Hardin and Tessa’s issues in the movie are often exaggerated for drama and comedy. Most of the things they face can easily be solved by a conversation or a short time apart.

Watching this movie together helps you and partner stop making a big deal out of minor issues, and it helps you solve problems in your relationship faster.

It is a nice, feel-good movie to sit back and enjoy for those on their first date. Sometimes all we need is a steamy, romance movie to get ourselves going.

Christian’s Farewell Party

For those not familiar with the movie or book series, Christian Vance is the biological father of Hardin Scott, who abandoned him and his mother many years before the movie.

Christian is very rich and successful. He holds a fancy farewell party at his house in the movie, which Hardin’s mom, Tessa, and Hardin all attend. As expected, there was trouble brewing among all parties involved.

It’s at the party that most of the issues in the movie come to ahead. Though, Christian is left out of the problems and puts out a toast to his colleagues. Afterward, he proposes to his now-fiancé Kimberly, and she accepts.

Tessa finds out that Trevor told Hardin to leave her alone. Tessa and Hardin both leave the party together. Then Hardin gets a new tattoo, promising never to leave Tessa alone again.

Impulsive Dates with Hardin

Another section of Tessa and Hardin’s relationship is the impulsive dates she often goes on with Hardin. This was key to the first movie and is key to ‘After We Collided’ as well. It stars as one of the downsides of their somewhat toxic relationship.

However, after the many arguments and fights, the movie ending gives viewers hope that Tessa and Hardin’s relationship may not be irredeemable, and there is hope for a happy ending.

Impulsiveness, in general, is a big thing in their relationship. Like when Tessa thought he was cheating on her with Jamie and impulsively kisses a stranger. When Hardin saw Tessa helping Trevor clean his shirt after pouring a drink on it, he immediately assumed she was about to sleep with him.

Despite this, while toxic and immature in real life, their impulsive behavior adds excitement to the movie as the viewers are always unsure of what is happening next. This helps create a good element of surprise around the characters in the film.

All in all, ‘After We Collided’ is a great film and should be your number one choice for movie date night.
