Phish’s Dinner and a Movie Returns With ’97 Cowfunk Via Hampton 11/22/97

Phish is bringing back their archival Livestream video series this Saturday (11/28) for a new Dinner And A Movie. This is the first new edition of the series since Halloween as they return with a legendary 1.0 era show: November 22nd, 1997 from the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA

This show, which occurred in the middle of Phish’s much-heralded 1997 Fall Tour, features remarkably strong playing throughout and is chock-full of must-hear moments including just the second “Mike’s Song” show-opener since 1990, a scorching version of the rarely-played Jimi Hendrix special “Izabella”, as well as a monster five-song second set that approaches the ninety-minute mark and is dripping with cow-funk from start to finish. Viewers will also want to keep an eye out for Trey’s humorous response to the crowd’s valiant, yet unsuccessful, attempt to coax the band into playing “Destiny Unbound” (once considered the holy-grail of bustouts by fans in the mid-to-late 90’s) by chanting the first verse in unison prior to the second set.

All donations made during the stream will benefit The Food Empowerment Project (F.E.P.), a non-profit organization that seeks to create a more just and sustainable world by recognizing the power of one’s food choices.

Watch the free livestream of Dinner And A Movie this November 28th, at 8:30PM at https://webcast.livephish.com/ or https://www.facebook.com/phish
