“I wrote this record before the election and in anticipation for change. I tried to hit some optimistic strides while outlining how tumultuous this past year has been for us all with the pandemic taking so many lives, as well as the racial tension on the ground in the US,” says AWON. “While there are new problems that need to be addressed when you couple that with systemic racism, police brutality, and income inequality you have the perfect storm for chaos. My hope is that people hear my words and gain some optimism about finding a new direction. Change begins within, and as my brother Anti-Lilly says we are all works in progress, nobody is perfect.”
