VIDEO PREMIERE: Psychedelic Space Rockers Flight Attendant Embrace Fuzzy Glam Sound on “DOGS”

With everything going on in today’s world, nobody can blame you if the only living thing you want to associate with is your four-legged furry friend. Today, the Nashville-based quintet Flight Attendant is back with a new song and video called “Dogs” (PRE-ORDER) that understands what you’re going through.

Flight Attendant is a psychedelic space rock band that features a viola player among their ranks. For the new single, the band worked with Grammy winning producer, Charles Yingling, who is also currently helming the band’s upcoming full length LP.

Today Glide is excited to premiere the music video for this catchy tune, which finds the band seamlessly mixing the melodrama of 70’s glam with the fuzz-drenched guitars and pounding drums of the 90’s grunge explosion. The song carries a more upbeat vibe than the band’s previously released songs with an infectious dance groove that brings to mind the Q Lazzarus cult favorite of Silence of the Lambs fame “Goodbye Horses.” Frontwoman Karalyne Winegarner commands your attention like Freddie Mercury working the crowd in an arena, even though the performance part of the video was shot in a musty basement, with an expressive punk energy that brings to mind Karen O.

Flight Attendant was making quite a name for themselves in Nashville’s vibrant music scene before Covid-19 shuttered venues, and with new singles like “Dogs” dropping, we can only hope the band is amongst the first to take their heralded live show on the road once it’s safe to be in a crowded bar again.

Lead singer and songwriter Karalyne Winegarner describes the inspiration and process behind the song:

“We wanted to get this year off to a more upbeat start- so we went with a straight-forward, rock track with jumping rhythms and melodies, and a viola, guitar and piano hook. “Dogs,” has been one of our favorites to perform live”
