The Paper Kites are an indie rock-folk band from Melbourne, Australia. They have released four studio albums and four EPs. Their fifth studio album Roses is set to be released on March 12th.
Check out the engaging new single “Walk Above The City” from The Paper Kites. Forged in haunting vocal harmonies and circular guitar musing, a sonic world opens up with a captivating aural range via guest singer, the multi-talented Portuguese artist MARO. We find The Paper Kites in refined form, building a fully realized sound from the inside out, colored in electric guitar and subtle bass application. “Walk Above The City” is cinematic and stunning, reminding us of The Cowboy Junkies and Gregory Alan Isakov.
“I had written these songs and had always wanted to do an album like this, but I remember almost scrapping the whole project because it felt too hard. It was about finding the right voices for the songs -artists that couldn’t just sing but had something deep and moving in the way they sang -and that’s not every singer -it’s rare,” says the band.
