Riley Downing of The Deslondes has announced his first ever West Coast tour in support of his solo debut Start It Over. In his review of the album, Glide‘s Jim Hynes had this to day:
“The lingering question is the difference between Downing’s material and that of the band. This writer, familiar with The Deslondes 2015 debut but not their 2017 follow-up, finds Downing’s songs more laid back and laconic, less distinctly country yet due to his baritone voice and the ease of his presentation, there are echoes of Johnny Cash buried in Downing’s grit and burnished delivery. Downing carries an undaunted, reassuring demeanor. The overall vibe adds up to an iced tea or beer on the porch on a lazy, pleasant afternoon.”
The 20-date trek will kick off on October 11th in Trinidad, CO and all dates will be supported by Kassi Valazza. Tickets will go on sale this Thursday, July 1st at 9am PDT. See all dates below.
