LISTEN: M’Lynn Captivates With Trance Like Flow On “I Got Low”

M’Lynn began writing music at age 12. Growing up in a musical family she used this creative outlet to deal with the emotion of growing up, and as a way to understand the world around her. Writing music helped M’Lynn throughout her ongoing mental health struggles, giving her a sense of purpose when nothing else did.

Settle into the intimate and vocally beguiling new single, “I Got Low” from M’Lynn. We are drawn in by a forthright lo-fi vocal that melds into a smooth R&B strut. Filled with warm bass movement and layered vocal majesty, “I Got Low” jives with the rhythmic flow of Faye Webster and Jamila Woods.

“This song is not about romanticizing mental illness or depression, but about the growth that is available to a person if they experience that dark place. This song was about hope for me and my life, and I hope the listener feels that too,” says M’Lynn.
