LISTEN: Laura Tsaggaris Carves Up Dynamic Vocal Grooves On “Get In The Mood”

Laura Tsaggaris (sah-GAIR-iss) is a singer, guitarist and songwriter. Her story begins in Pennsylvania where she grew up in the Pittsburgh area. College and a tennis scholarship brought her to Williamsburg, VA. She left that historic city with a love for another: Washington, DC. Touring across the country while calling the nation’s capital home laid the groundwork for her to grow into the influential musician she is today. She works to give back to her adopted hometown through the musical talents that have taken her far and wide.

“Get In The Mood,” is the title track off of Laura Tsaggaris’s newly released holiday album, and it’s an ugly sweater party that’ll win over even the saltiest Scrooge. Crunchy Wurlitzer and guitars drenched in fuzz chisel out the hook over a sleigh bell-infused bouncing groove. Tsaggaris’ sultry and dynamic presence helps to lift the spirit, ranging from delicate and inviting, to straight-up powerhouse.

Inspired by the pandemic, and what Tsaggaris says the season is truly about, “partying and making out,” the title track speaks to the all-too-familiar feelings of having a hard time getting into the spirit of Christmas.“The pandemic has most of us longing for connection,” said Tsaggaris. “For me, that’s often found through live music. I really enjoyed a quiet Christmas with my family last year, but this year I’m ready to ‘Get in the Mood,’ to party together at a real show.”
