This Saturday (May 21), Saturday Night Live closed out its 47th season. Michelle Zauner’s Japanese Breakfast acted as the musical guest for the season finale, performing two cuts, “Paprika” and “Be Sweet”, off their 2021 album Jubilee. Actress Natasha Lyonne hosted the season closer which featured a small appearance from Eminem and more Pete Davidson raps.

This marks the band’s SNL debut and they made their mark. The performances were beautiful and featured a full band dawned in all white formal wear. The funk-inspired “Paprika” brought life to the stage while their intimate rendition of “Be Sweet” was charming and lively.

This performance caps off an impressive run from Zauner and company. After releasing their third album last June, the band was brought on to soundtrack the video game “Sable”. Along with these two releases, Japanese Breakfast received two Grammy nominations in the “Best New Artist” and “Best Alternative Music Album”.
