June 18th Record Store Day Drop: The Kinks, Wilco, Madness, Paul McCartney/St. Vincent

Vinyl junkies rejoice, the people over at Record Store Day have announced the list of releases coming to independent record stores on June 18th. This will act as a follow-up date to the original Record Store Day on April 23. Anyone who follows vinyl releases knows the struggle most pressing plants have been going through. Vinyl sales have been on the rise for years and major labels are starting to get a whiff of it, meaning they’re pressing up physical copies of major releases and ordering hundreds of thousands of vinyl, paying top dollar to put their release at the top of the list. This has pushed back independent releases and delayed pre-orders for months. June 18th is the day for all the releases originally slated for April that didn’t make it to the shelves due to the major manufacturing delays.

Regardless, there is a great list of releases that will be hitting your local record store this June. Record Store Day recently released the list of the releases in June and it is stacked. You can check out the full list below but Glide has picked the top five essential pick-ups for your collection.
